He was renowned for his unique way in training students and his respects for all artists, even those younger than him.

In 1979, he made a special contribution to the music world by publishing a book called “Concise understanding in Miruthangam”. At this time only a few Miruthangam books were published in Ceylon and India, his book was highly valued by lovers of the Miruthangam.

His succumbed to illness and suddenly departed from the musical world at midnight on 17 May 1988.
